TRAVEL TO THE SOUTH AFRICAN CAPITAL, CAPE TOWN

The best view of Cape Town is from the rotating cable cars starting at Table Mountain’s flat top. From here, enjoy majestic views of the amazing Cape city. From here, you can view the stadium, downtown high-rises, the ocean and its people.

Experience its History and Future

As a port City, it is known for its busy harbours, tour boats and yachts. Its hard not to take to the water to experience the unmatched convergence of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. You can also book a boat heading for Robben Island, to immerse yourself in the liberation struggle, made famous by Nelson Mandela. His former prison of two decades has become a museum of the struggle, the bitter past and of the wonderful future of South Africa.

Downtown, you can stop by the V&A Waterfront for a shopping experience or to visit its Two Oceans Aquarium. Other historical sites to visit include: the 17th century Castle of Good Hope. This castle is the oldest surviving colonial building in South Africa. It is thought to have been built by the Dutch East India Company around 1666.

More About Cape Town

Street Energy and Entertainment

Enjoy Djembe drumming, roadside dancing, performances and daring acrobats which are unique features of this Cape City. You meet these on the beaches, streets and at some strange locations in the city.

Cape Town is an open-air entertainment paradise, with events, festivals, concerts, and parades following back to back. Apart from the smaller events, you can schedule your visit to coincide with 8 major music festivals holding each year. These include Cape Town’s jazz festival (one of the largest in the world), multiple trance festivals and Kirstenbosch summer concerts. All which match music, food and wine in a way only Cape Town can serve.

Also visit the historic and colourful Cape Malay, another part of Cape Town’s sad history and cosmopolitan future. Carnivals in Cape Malay rival those of their Port cousins in New Orleans. No trip to Cape Malay is complete without a visit to District Six. Its colourful buildings make for great selfies.
